Aerial Work Part 1

This is the map for my 1st nav solo flight. Haha. I was not really ready for the flight actually because I skipped 1 lesson. Before solo there’s a Nav Intro (dual; with instructor) then there’s Nav 1 before the nav solo.
Without being sure about the nav flight I got into my plane and requested clearance from the control tower for the nav exercise. As soon as I’m cleared I took off and head north for my 1st destination- Tampin. It wasn’t hard. Beside Tampin town, there’s a HUGE hill that no one could miss. ETA: 10 minutes after take off.
Upon reaching the hill I steered the plane to heading 140 or something. That’s south east. Note that I’m doing this alone for the 1st time. My friend got lost during Nav 1. There’s definitely a chance for me to get lost too. Since i skipped nav 1.. The next town is Tangkak. It’s a little bit tricky but there’s another hill beside it. A hill is very visible from the air. Btw, I’m flying at 2000ft. There’s a very visible mushroom structure in the middle of a town too. I’ve reached Tangkak.
I continued tracking southeast looking for a town called Parit Sulong. No hills around. I came across a few towns, rivers and roads. Being a rookie at map reading, it doesn’t help at all. They all look the same. I need a special town landmark.. I felt lost, but continued flying anyway. By right, i should look at the time n estimate where I am, but I’m too lazy. Then came this town where rivers and the highway met. I’ve reached Parit Sulong. I’m not lost after all. Hehe.
Now, I’m left with 1 more time then I’m heading back. It’s a short flight. I pushed the control stick away from me. As the plane started to bank I apply a little bit of back pressure so that I don’t decent while rolling. Looking at them map; I know I’m suppose to head north west. Its an easy town because its at a river mouth. No trouble at all - Muar.
“Academy 438, this is Melaka tower,” the control tower called, trying to reach me.
“Melaka Tower, this is academy 438. Go ahead,”
“Academy 438 hold at R-239 A4, 1500ft. Contact Melaka Ground at 121.6,”
“R-239 A4 1500ft. Over to Ground,”
After establishing R-239 A4, they told me that there was some Paradrop activity at the runway. That means we cant proceed to the airfield to land. That means all aircraft that took off earlier cant land. R-239 was packed. A1 was occupied by 2 aircraft, A2 with 1 aircraft, A3 with another aircraft, A4 with 2 aircraft including me, A5 with 1 aircraft and R-239B with 3. We were separated by 500ft. The weather is coming n other aircraft from their nav flights are approaching.
“Aircrafts in A4, be advice A sescena is tracking from Melaka to Muar, 1000ft. Estimating Muar 45,” the tower was advicing all aircraft about a sescena navigating across R239.
“Copied traffic, Academy 405,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 396,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 403,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 428,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 438,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 22,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 16,”
“Copied traffic, Academy 438,”
The replies went on..
It was really fun up there. Hehe. After about 10 minutes 1 by 1 were instructed to land. Its not normal to have so many aircraft at 1 place at once. Nav 2 completed!
This is MMU from above. I took this pictire with my handpone before landing. The white thing top right of the picture is the plane’s wing. hp. Haha. I know its ugly
